Standing Tall Through it All

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Happy July! The plan had been to get this newsletter out on July 4th, but we were too busy doing our patriotic duty and watching Top Gun: Maverick three times back-to-back in theaters. Life really does come at you fast.

In this latest CCB newsletter we’re excited to share that some of our longer-term projects are beginning to show results, provide a few legislative updates and introduce our newest team member!

Since it’s still America’s birthday month and the news has been especially difficult lately, we also wanted to share CCB’s take on the state of the country and what we’re doing about it. Like any rational Americans, the past three months have been especially difficult for us, which is why we appreciate this (condensed) quote from Howard Zinn more than ever: “To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. If we remember those times and places where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait for some grand utopian future.” We’re doing our best – standing tall through it all, if you will – to meet the moment and feel lucky to have you all as our friends, our colleagues, and our community.

We hope everyone has a wonderful, safe summer and we’ll catch up with you again in August!

PS- You can read the full newsletter that was sent out to our subscribers here!

Sincerely,
Adam Briones
